A 57-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a failed bomb bid on a Northern Ireland police officer.

The suspect is being questioned about the discovery of an under vehicle improvised explosive device attached to the serving officer's vehicle in the village of Eglinton on the outskirts of Derry last week.

The unexploded bomb was made safe by Army technical officers.

The man was arrested in the Lurgan area of Co Armagh on Tuesday morning.
