A man who was arrested by gardai investigating the interception, theft and unauthorised use of payment cards from the postal system in the Dublin area has been freed.
The suspect, an employee of An Post, was arrested following a planned operation by the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation and An Post in the Crumlin area.
During searches yesterday and on Thursday, gardai discovered several items which were believed to be stolen, including post.
The man, who is in his 40s, was taken to Terenure Garda station where he was being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardai said this afternoon he was released without charge. A file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
