The Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) has unveiled a phone and Internet service for members of its 532 affiliated branches in the Republic and Northern Ireland.

Two new services will be available - Credit Union PhoneSaverand Credit Union InternetSaver  which will offer customers email accounts, broadband connection, online security, web development and competitive phone call costs.

"The ILCU has negotiated this package as a benefit for its affiliated credit unions on a commission-free basis so that the level of service and pricing is extremely attractive" ICLU chief Liam O'Dwyer said.

The ICLU expects a saving of around 20 per cent over other operators in relation to phone call charges.

"While this package immediately simplifies the whole process of improving credit unions' telecommunications and Internet development, it also establishes a very economical and flexible basis for future growth and increasing service sophistication," Mr O'Dwyer added.
