Last week we ran an item on the move online by many small Irish businesses and the desire amongst consumers who shop online to shop local during this time of unprecedented crisis as an act of solidarity. Rather than just talking about it, we asked Twitter users to recommend local businesses. The response was massive and we got in excess of 1,000 recommendations. There were also a few people who said the only options when it comes to online shopping are giant international companies. That could not be further from the truth. The only pity is that we can only highlight some of great Irish sites here.
