The biography doesn't actually tell you a great deal

The biography doesn't actually tell you a great deal. Violinist Catherine Leonard studied in Cork and Dublin, then in Dallas and Salzburg, and is currently completing a master's degree under Hermann Krebbers in Amsterdam, where she's the leader of the Sweelinck Conservatoire Orchestra. She's taken prizes at a number of international competitions, has played at Amsterdam's famous Concertgebouw hall, etc. Put another way, she's quite simply the leading Irish violinist of her generation. But, more importantly, she plays with natural directness, individuality and uncommon musical insight. Her first major concerto outing in Ireland is with the RTECO tomorrow afternoon at the University Concert Hall in Limerick, when she plays the Bruch G minor Concerto under Proinnsias O Duinn. Catch her if you can.
