Bank of Ireland (B of I) is attempting to expand its media finance business with plans to establish a media team in the United States.
The media finance team will offer finance to media companies in the publishing, information services, broadcasting, out-of-home, cable television and digital media sectors.
It will be headed by Chris Mangan, formerly managing director of GE Commercial's global media and communications group. The Connecticut-based team will focus on the corporate and private equity market.
The financial institution already has a team in the United Kingdom providing media financing deals for companies. It has been involved in a number of deals in Europe, including Mecom, Ingenious, All 3 Media International, Engine and Endemol.
