The company's building on the corner of Stephen's Green and Hume St will be sold and the remaining, mainly administrative, staff will relocate to other offices in Dublin.

MBNA Ireland was recognised recently as the "best workplace in Europe" following a survey of management and staff in almost 1,000 companies across 14 countries about their working practices by the Great Place to Work Institute.

A commercial property agent in Dublin said prime office properties in that location could command between €800 to €1,000 per square foot.
