What's driving polar bears into the town dump?

Hunger is driving the bears into townships and even to the dumps where rubbish burns as a deterrent

Polar bears are curious animals and also scavengers. These facts alone would ocasionally drive them into townships in search of food. Climate change however, is now to blame as more and more hungry polar bears are forced to search for alternate food sources. Receeding ice sheets shorten the polar bear hunting period and drive the bears to the shore. Resolute bay has seen increased number of polar bears eating from their dump and not even flames and burns deter them.
