Sherry FitzGerald continues its charge on the Dublin market with further expansion plans. The agency has set its sights on Sandymount village in the heart of Dublin 4, where it has submitted planning to set up shop at 94 Sandymount Road, beside AIB.

The building had been rented from May 2012 on a three-year lease with the previous tenants – a holistic centre – paying a rent of €20,000 per annum.

Bennetts Auctioneers, which recently celebrated 20 years of business on Sandymount Green, were until now the only agency with a retail premises in the village.

Sherry FitzGerald is no stranger to Sandymount, however, with its flagship Ballsbridge branch located just minutes from the village. This is clearly a statement of intent to target the pricey locale and better serve existing and potential clients.

No doubt Sherry’s doyen of D4, Simon Ensor, will play a role front and centre in overseeing the expansion to this, his very well-trodden patch.

Meanwhile, the agency has boldly gone where it has never gone before, with the opening of a new branch on Sundrive Road in recent days.

Under agent Will Moore, the office will take in Kimmage, Crumlin, Drimnagh, Kilmainham, Rialto and Inchicore – territories not traditionally serviced by Sherry Fitz, reflecting its aggressive expansion strategy and the growing attractiveness of these locales.

These latest moves will bring the total number of Sherry Fitz branches in Dublin to 19. In January, it opened a new Rathmines office, then in July it was announced that it had acquired Foxrock agency Daphne L Kaye & Associates, which had long dominated the lucrative Foxrock residential market.
