BUILT IN 2006, Bantry Lodge in Aghakeel, Lanesborough, Co Longford comes with its own deep-water harbour on Lough Ree, the second largest lake on the Shannon.

Knight Frank is asking €375,000 for the four-bedroom lodge, which also comes with 11 acres of land and a boathouse.

The nearest village to Bantry Lodge is Lanesborough, which has a marina, shops , pubs and restaurants. The lodge is very spacious at 220sq m (2,368sq ft) and has a big, open-plan living/diningroom and kitchen, with great views over the lake and double doors to the garden. The kitchen is an inviting space with a red solid-fuel stove and an island with a granite worktop. The open-plan space also has a sizeable chill-out area and a diningroom and the vibe is cosy and homely.

There are four bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, and one with a study, and there’s also a utility room and boot room.

Three of the four bedrooms also have walk-in-wardrobes.

While the lodge is surrounded by gardens, most of the lands are across the private road and run alongside the lake shore. The private harbour is also across the road, and is accessed via its own gateway.
