De Veres, Kildare Street, Dublin 2. Irish Art Auction. Sixty per cent of lots sold. The top lot was Ballacorrick, Mouth of the Turning River 1 by Hughie O'Donoghue, €5,000 (€3,000-€5,000); Sorrento Terrace, Dalkey, Co Dublin, by Ivan Sutton, €900 (€800-€1,200); Sheriff Street Lower by Aidan Bradley, €600 (€600-€900).

Morgan O'Driscoll Auctioneers online art auction. Eighty-eight per cent of lots sold. Race to the Finish (oil on canvas) by Liam O'Neill, €8,500 (€6,000-€8,000).
Tuesday (June 28th)
Adam's, 26 St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2. Auction of fine jewellery and watches. Lot 118, a novelty gold brooch by Cartier designed as a rabbit with ruby eyes and onyx nose, munching on a coral carrot, €5,500 (€6,000-€8,000); Lot 116, an early Victorian gold necklace designed as a serpent with green beryl crown and garnet eyes, €3,200 (€2,000-€4,000).
Tuesday & Wednesday (June 28th, 29th)
Fonsie Mealy Auctioneers, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny. Chatsworth Fine Art Sale. Seventy per cent of lots sold. The top lot was a 19th-century Irish bracket clock by Sharp of Westmoreland Street, Dublin, which made €6,600 – three times the top estimates (€1,600-€2,200). A painting, The Children of Oliver St. John Gogarty, Dermot, Brenda and 'Noll' at Renvyle, Connemara with the Twelve Pins in the background (oil on canvas) by Gerald Leslie Brockhurst, estimated at €10,000-€15,000, was withdrawn before the sale and, according to the auctioneer, "a satisfactory deal was agreed to keep it among the family".
Tuesday & Wednesday (June 28th, 29th)
Sheppard's country house collections auction at Coolattin House, Shillelagh, Co Wicklow. Ninety-one per cent of lots sold. Lot 743, a Chinese Qing period vase, made €260,000 – more than three times the top estimate (€60,000-€80,000) – and was bought by an online bidder in Beijing; Lot 767, a Chinese gilt bronze Buddha made €46,000 (€15,000-€20,000); and Lot 593, a set of 12 18th-century Chinese export hardwood elbow chairs, €20,000 (€30,000-€50,000). However, a selection of seven classic cars, including a 1976 silver/grey four-door saloon, Silver Shadow Rolls Royce estimated at €20,000-€30,000, failed to sell.
