Mullen's of Laurel Park Classic and Contemporary Interior online sale is currently open and ends on Sunday, November 7th. Over 600 lots include the contents of a Dublin 4 property and other clients.

“It is probably our best sale all year and we’ve had great interest,” says Joe Mullen. “The majority of lots were collected over the years at auction houses in London and Ireland, so it is of a great standard.”

Included in the sale is a fine mahogany and marquetry china display cabinet (lot 154, €1,200-€1,600) and a pair of 19th century inlaid fold over card tables (lot 134, €800-€1,200), along with a Georgian mahogany hunt table (lot 69, €500-€700).

For fans of Danish architect and furniture designer Arne Jacobsen, his Swan chair in buttercup yellow by Fritz Hansen (lot 151) is listed at €800-€1,200, while lot 150 is a classic Omann Jun rosewood desk from the 1960s (€800-€1,200).

Cavan-based auction house Victor Mee will hold the Hyde Interiors Ex-Show- house Furnishings Sale, which will take place this Wednesday and Thursday, November 10th and 11th. The sale is online only, and viewing is taking place today, Saturday, November 6th, at Tallbridge Road, Cranagill in Co Armagh - which is also the address for collection.

The sale will offer bidders the chance to take home items from Hyde, one of Ireland’s largest staging and showhouse design companies, which has a blue chip client base of investment funds, property developers and asset managers.

Ex-showhouse furniture

With over 1,000 lots that include wall art, soft and leather furnishings and mid-century, vintage and retro-style furniture, Mee expects to attract bidders from around the world due to its diverse range. Some items, such as tables, sofas and chairs, are almost new having been used as display stock “and most likely never sat on”, according to Mee.

“The impressive collection has a modern and decorative twist, and it is not to be missed in the run-up to the festive season when many interior lovers will be adding new items to their homes or seeking out deals on unique gifts.”

For fans of G-Plan furniture, the catalogue lists lot 234, a circular teak coffee table with a clear glass inset (€350-€550) and lot 58 is listed as a G-Plan oak drop leaf gate-leg dining table with eight chairs at €650-€950.

On Saturday and Sunday, December 4th and 5th, the National Antiques, Art and Vintage Fair will hold its last ever event at the South Court Hotel in Limerick. The event which has run twice a year for the past 25 years is in search of a new venue for 2022 and beyond.
