De Veres auction of 20th Century Design, The Pavilion, Leopardstown Racecourse. Seventy-five per cent of lots sold. A 1960s Danish rosewood desk, designed by Svend Aage, €3,200 (€1,500-€2,500); a "Nomos" table, designed by Sir Norman Foster, €2,400 (€1,500-€2,000); a set of eight "Hudson" chairs by Philippe Starck, €2,000 (€1,000- €2,000); a pair of "Pratfall" chairs by Philippe Starck, €1,900 (€1,400- €1,800); a pair of Danish "Swan" chairs by Arne Jacobsen, €1,500 (€1,500- €2,500). Matthews Auction Rooms' annual sale at Headfort House, Kells, Co Meath. A 19th-century marble bust of Augustus FitzClarence (the son of Waterford-born Dorothea Bland, a London actress known by the stage name Mrs Jordan, and the Duke of Clarence, later King William IV), €5,500 (€5,000-€8,000).
