The infamous "Pink Palace" on Burlington Road in Dublin 4 is back on the rental market. This time around, the property best known for the lavish parties once hosted there by its boom-bust-boom again developer owner Johnny Ronan, is available off-market for €15,000 a month.
Most recently the flamboyant property was vacated by the disgraced former United Arab Emirates ambassador to Ireland, Khalid Nasser Rashed Lootah. He was recalled to the UAE following an Employment Appeals Tribunal ruling against him after three women from the Philippines who had worked for him were awarded €80,000 each last November after telling the tribunal they worked 15 hour days, seven days a week for less than €2 an hour. The ambassador had been paying €18,000 a month in rent.
The “specialised let” is described as being “quietly available” with a source close to it saying it would be most suited to a “visiting film star, producer or ambassador.”
Ronan built the four-bed Palladian-style villa more than a decade ago and while a €5.5 million transaction was recorded for it on the Property Price Register on April 1st, it remains in the ownership of Ronan’s firms following his exit from Nama last month.
