Irish abroad: What is the work-life balance like where you live?

This week in The Irish Times, our writers will be examining burnout ("a concept that lies, depending on who you talk to, somewhere between a medical diagnosis and a fashionable buzzword", Patrick Freyne writes).

As part of the series, we want to hear from our readers around the world about workplace cultures and expectations where you live.

Is there more or less of a focus by employers generally on work-life balance than in Ireland? What practical measures are in place to help prevent work-related stress, either legally or just in your workplace? Are you expected to work more or less? How do hours and holidays compare? What other differences have you noticed in workplace culture? Are you more or less stressed in the workplace than you think you might be in a similar job in Ireland? Do you have a better or worse work-life balance?

Is “burnout” a thing where you live? Have you experienced it in your lifetime, either in Ireland or abroad? Was it purely work related, or due to other factors too?
