Three people have died following road traffic collisions in counties Galway, Kildare and Carlow at the weekend.
A man in his 30s died in a crash in Tuam, Co Galway in the early hours of Sunday. The single vehicle incident occurred on the L2107 at Cappadavock, Lavally at about 4.30am.
“The sole occupant of the car, a man in his 30s, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” An Garda Síochána said in a statement.
A postmortem is to be carried out on the deceased at University Hospital Galway in due course, the force added.

Traffic diversions were in place on Sunday while the scene of the crash underwent a forensic examination.
Meanwhile, a pedestrian was fatally injured on the N7 near Kill in Co Kildare on Saturday.
The incident, which involved a bus, occurred between junctions seven and eight eastbound at about 3.30pm.
A man, aged in his 30s, was brought from the scene to Tallaght University Hospital but died from his injuries. A postmortem will take place in due course.
The bus driver was uninjured and two passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Separately, gardaí in Co Carlow are investigating a fatal incident on the R703 at Ballyroughan Big, Borris on Saturday at 4.30pm, in which a car struck a pedestrian.
A man, aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner has been notified and a postmortem examination is to take place.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 60s, was uninjured.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any of the collisions to contact them, particularly road users who may have camera footage.
The three incidents bring the number of people killed on the State’s roads so far this year to 146, including 32 pedestrians.
