A man in his 40s has died in Ballycotton, Co Cork, after an incident involving a dumper truck he was driving.
Gardaí and the emergency services arrived on the scene at Church Road this afternoon. The alarm was raised at 3.30pm.
It is understood the man was carrying out works in the area, an accident occurred and he was struck by his heavy goods vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body is set to be removed to Cork University Hospital where a postmortem examination will be conducted.

Garda forensic collision investigators are due to attend the scene. The L3633 road is closed to traffic. Local diversions were put in place.
The Health and Safety Authority has been notified.
A full investigation will be carried out.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
Meanwhile, gardaí in Cork city are also investigating a fatal road traffic collision this evening that led to the death of a 27-year-old cyclist.
The collision with a truck happened on Albert Road at about 6.30pm. The young woman was attended to by paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body has since been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem is expected to take place on Friday.
Gardaí closed the road and put traffic diversions in place to allow a Garda forensic crash examiner to carry out work.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses or motorists with video footage of the area at the time to share this with investigators.
