The first performance of the Mary Poppins musical at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin has been cancelled due to delays with the set caused by Storm Darragh.

An additional performance for Sunday, December 15th at 6.30pm has been scheduled to accommodate the affected audience.

For those unable to attend the rescheduled date, a full refund or exchange, subject to availability, will be offered. The theatre said, as it stands, all future performances of the show will go ahead as scheduled.

In a statement this afternoon, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre said due to the impact of Storm Darragh, “there have been repeated delays with large parts of the Mary Poppins set being shipped from the UK to Dublin”.

All tickets for the original date will remain valid for December 15th, and patrons will retain the same seats they originally booked.

“Bord Gáis Energy Theatre sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by this situation,” the theatre added.

“Every effort was made to ensure the show would proceed as planned, and this decision was not made lightly.

“We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during these exceptional circumstances.”
