This week’s Mucho Más White is made from an unusual blend of verdejo, sauvignon blanc and chardonnay planted in different wine regions of Spain. The chardonnay component is aged for a few months in French oak barrels. It is part of a range of sparkling, white, rosé and red wines under the Mucho Más label. The red edition is available in Tesco and SuperValu. The brand has sold more than 15 million bottles worldwide.
Ripasso is one of our favourite wines. Normal Valpolicella tends to be very light, but this sees producers refermenting the wine on the skins of Amarone grapes. It sounds complicated, but the upshot is a richer smoother fruitier wine, which tastes sweet although usually it isn’t.
