Pilgrimage: The Road to Santiago

Friday, BBC Two, 9pm

If you're the type who enjoys watching celebrities sitting around doing very little in the jungle or the Big Brother house, then prepare for some edge-of-your-seat excitement as a group of celebrities face the ultimate physical challenge – actual walking. Pilgrimage: The Road to Santiago is a three-part travelogue series in which seven stars are stripped of their home comforts and forced to hoof it along the Camino di Santiago, the world's most famous walking route. They must live as medieval pilgrims as they negotiate this ancient pilgrims' path, and they must also try to get in touch with their spirituality along the way. The group includes actor Neil Morrissey (currently to be seen in Striking Out), comedian Ed Byrne, M People singer Heather Small and Debbie McGee, the widow of magician Paul Daniels. Will the journey bring any of them closer to God, and will it separate the serious walkers from the strollers?

On My Block

The series stars Diego Tinoco (Teen Wolf) as Cesar Diaz, Jason Genao (The Get Down, Logan) as Ruby Martinez, Jessica Marie Garcia (Disney's Liv and Maddie) as Jasmin, Sierra Capri as Monse Finnie and Brett Gray as Jamal Turner.

Santa Clarita Diet

Available on Netflix from March 16th

It may not be quite heaven in the LA suburb of Santa Clarita, but life for Sheila and Joel Hammond and their teenaged daughter Abby is pretty good – although, in Sheila's case, "life" is a pretty loose term here. Let's just say that she's managing the whole being undead thing very well, don't you think? Okay, she has to go out every now and again and kill someone to satisfy her craving for human flesh, but the family are doing really great at keeping up appearances, and you'd never guess that Sheila is one of the undead – although she has to keep sticking her fingers back on every now and then.

Santa Clarita Diet is back for second helpings of stomach- churning gore and gut-busting belly laughs, with Drew Barrymore as the cannibalistic undead mom, Timothy Olyphant as stressed-out husband Joel, and Liv Hewson as teenage daughter Abby, who greets each fresh horror with a shrug and a "whatever".

Season two sees the Hammonds on a mission to find a cure for the virus that has turned Sheila into a flesh-eating killer monster and prevent it from spreading to the entire human race. But meanwhile, a gal’s gotta eat, and with the body count rising fast, it’s getting harder for the Hammonds to present a peachy-keen face to the world. My appetite has been whetted.

St Patrick’s Day Parade

Saturday, RTÉ One, 12.15pm

Saturday is of course national Irish day, and as usual we'll be celebrating our Irishness by sending our top politicians to the four corners of the Earth to completely embarrass and disgrace us. And of course we'll be doing the big parade thing, so get the green hats out and get settled in front of the telly for St Patrick's Day Parade (Saturday, RTÉ One, 12.15pm). The theme of this year's parade is "Home is Where the Heart Is" – sounds like a big hint is being dropped to our travelling TDs there. Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh, Aidan Power and Des Cahill will be on hand to bring you all the parade action, as community groups and pageant companies come together to show off their most imaginative floats (no bread vans with a bit of green bunting anymore). This year's Grand.
