The Kompakt label’s well regarded series is a club which has room for both regulars and newcomers who toil in the panoramic electronic and ambient music departmets.
Since 2001, the series has produced annual collections of pristine music of quiet, elegant distinction and the latest release continues that mission state- ment with another fine slew of music for daydreaming.
Certainly, there's no doubt that Pop Ambient debutant Thore Pfeisser understands the template and both Wie Es Euch Gefallt and Nero come with the soft swell of sounds and quiet, understated drama which have underpinned much of this series. The more seasoned crew are also out in force, with Dirk Leyers, Gregor Schwellenbach and especially Gustavo Lamas contributing finely balanced washes of light and shade.
