Sunday 6
Gandhi 150 Ireland
Liberty Hall, Dublin, 6.30pm and 8pm
Master fiddle player Liam O'Connor joins sean nós singer and viola player Saileog Ní Cheannabháin, piper Peter Browne and Tristan Rosenstock on bodhrán, for a very special evening commemorating the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's birth. They will be joined by a quintet of classical Indian musicians, and by Haiku master Gabriel Rosenstock whose book of haiku poetry, beautifully illustrated with watercolours by Kashmiri artist Masood Hussain, will be launched by Dr Bryan MacMahon. This promises to be an exceptional evening of music and poetry, and a timely reminder of what pacifist advocacy can achieve.
