A Photoshop fail in Vanity Fair magazine's annual Hollywood issue left Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon with extra limbs.

The photo shoot features other stars such as Tom Hanks and Nicole Kidman, but fans were quick to spot the errors and post them on social media. In the photographs, Oprah appears to have an extra hand while Ms Witherspoon appears to have an extra leg.

Ms Witherspoon simply laughed off the mishap in a Tweet, and said: “Well... I guess everybody knows now... I have 3 legs.”

In a reply to the Tweet, Oprah said: “I accept your 3d leg. As I know you accept my 3d hand.”

On its Twitter account, Vanity Fair passed off Ms Witherspoon’s third leg. “While we would have loved the exclusive on @RWitherspoon’s three legs, unfortunately it’s just the lining of her dress.”

However, in reference to the mishap with Oprah, the magazine said: “As for @Oprah, how can we expect her to juggle it all with just two hands? (We are correcting this error online.)”
