Zoom sensation Jackie Weaver has announced the publication of her first book, You Do Have the Authority Here!

The 62-year-old, of the Cheshire Association of Local Councils, went viral on Twitter and elsewhere following video footage of a chaotic and disorderly Handforth parish council meeting, which took place last December.

In the meeting, chairman Brian Tolver told Weaver to stop talking, adding: "You have no authority here". In response, Weaver removed Tolver from the Zoom call and placed him in a virtual waiting room.

The book, which promises "plain old common sense", will be available from September 16th, published by Constable.

A Handforth council meeting in Cheshire, England that descended into chaos – with councillors trading insults and ultimately getting booted off the Zoom call – has become an internet sensation.

In her book, Weaver will share her standing orders for life, including Zoom etiquette, asserting yourself in the workplace and how to take charge of your life.

Following the circulation of clips from the meeting, Weaver has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, cut her first dance track, had her face and catchphrases printed on T-shirts and fridge magnets and launched a podcast.

Speaking about the book, Weaver said: “What a terrific opportunity to be able to pass on things that I feel have helped me to negotiate the past 62 years – things that I think of as plain old common sense – something that we have lost sight of.”

Andreas Campomar of Constable publishers said: "This is an essential handbook for getting things done and pressing mute on the noise. We are thrilled to be publishing the first book from Jackie Weaver, the internet sensation who is here to stay."
