An eighth man has appeared in court in connection with the fatal assault of Quham Babatunde in Dublin’s city centre last February.
Mr Babatunde (34) was stabbed three times in an attack on Anne Street South at around 3am on February 15th.
Bruno Tache (20), of Trimleston, Balbriggan, faces two charges of assault causing harm, one against Mr Babatunde and another against a friend of his, Angel Eghosa Agharia. He faces a third charge of committing violent disorder with others.
Giving evidence at Dublin District Court, Garda Jordan Kennedy said Mr Tache went to the nearby Club 22 nightclub on Valentine’s night with some friends.

Security removed him from the club because he was so intoxicated, the court heard.
Garda Kennedy said the accused and his associates became involved in an incident afterwards that led to Mr Babatunde’s death.
The attack was completely “unprovoked” and was fuelled by intoxicants, he told the court.
High-definition CCTV demonstrated that Mr Tache was one of the “primary aggressors” in the incident, the garda submitted.
Mr Tache was later seen assaulting an unknown male at a bus stop on Dame Street for “no apparent reason”, the court heard.
Garda Kennedy said gardaí identified Mr Tache using from CCTV footage harvested by several cameras.
He was arrested at his home address on Monday and conveyed to Pearse Street Garda station where he was questioned at length and shown CCTV footage of the incident, the court heard.
Judge Paula Murphy refused bail and remanded Mr Tache in custody to appear by videolink at Cloverhill District Court on April 1st. She granted him free legal aid.
