Two Irish in top 100 list of LGBT business leaders

Two Irish business people have made it into OUTStanding’s top 100 list of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) business leaders.

Limerick-born Margot Slattery, Sodexo managing director for the Republic and Northern Ireland is number 50 in the list of LGBT business leaders and the first Irish member on the list.

Stephen Clarke WH Smith chief executive officer, who is from the North, ranks 5th on the list.

OUTStanding is is a not-for-profit professional network for LGBT executives and their allies and publishes an annual top 100 list of executives and a top 20 list of straight allies. Allies are key business people who promote diversity

The top 10 list is led by Christopher Bailey, CEO of Burberry with Antonio Simoes, chief executive, HSBC UK at number two. they are followed by Beth Brooke-Marciniak, global vice chair, EY; Anthony Watson, global chief information officer, Nike; Stephen Clarke, CEO, WH Smith; Jason Grenfell-Gardner, CEO, IG Labarotories; Alex Schultz, vice president, Facebook; Paul Reed, CEO BP IST; Robert Greenblatt, chairman, NBC entertainment and at number 10 Claudia Brind-Woody, vice-president, IBM.
