Ryanair has ended a three-year deal with computer reservations specialist Amadeus that allowed travel agents to book the airline's flights for their customers.

The Irish carrier’s decision to sign a distribution deal with Amadeus in September 2014 was one of several policy changes that went with Ryanair’s “always getting better” programme designed to boost customer service.

Ryanair said that it will end its partnership with the reservations company on Friday December 15th after the pair failed to reach a renewed commercial agreement.

The airline said that it would continue to service travel agents through similar deals with distributors Travelport and Sabre, whose agreements remained unchanged.

Kenny Jacobs, Ryanair's chief marketing officer, thanked Amadeus for its support during the partnership.

Ryanair signed global distribution deals with the reservations companies to give it greater access to the business market, which it began to court seriously after beginning work on its customer service improvements.
