Limerick Radisson Blu latest in hotel group to enter receivership

The Limerick Radisson Blu Hotel has become the latest franchise in the group to enter receivership

The Limerick Radisson Blu Hotel has become the latest franchise in the group to enter receivership. Management at the 154-room hotel confirmed yesterday that the hotel was entering the receivership process.

A receiver was appointed on Tuesday, and the hotel will trade as normal in the interim period.

Yesterday’s news comes just 12 months after the Raddison Blu Hotel in Athlone went into receivership.

The Limerick hotel employs some 60 full- and part-time staff in the hospitality and accommodation areas as well as in the spa and the on-site Porter’s Restaurant and Quench Bar.

President of the Irish Hotel Federation Michael Vaughan said it was obviously a time of concern for the staff, management and suppliers, but insisted “there is every reason to be hopeful”.

On Tuesday, the same day that the receiver was appointed to the Limerick hotel, a survey by hotels.comshowed that Limerick city hotel rooms were the cheapest in the country.
