Tumblr is one of those internet rabbit holes where you can quite literally tumble for hours from link to bizarro link. It's the birthplace of most memes, eye-wateringly bad fan-fic, endless Friends GIFs and teenaged snark. Browsing through Tumblr is a bit like visiting a flea market rather than heading to Facebook, aka the Tesco of the internet.
When the Yahoo-owned blogging platform recently removed the ability to reply to posts – while adding an instant messaging feature – its user base was in revolt. The powers that be listened, bringing back new and improved replies: users can now reply multiple times, comment separately on reposts, and see replies gathered in one place thanks to a new feature called Notes.
If you're looking for something different such as Harry Potter fan art, Q&As with celebs like Harrison Ford, or some great author blogs (see: Ransom Riggs, the guy behind Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children) now is the time to dip into Tumblr.
