Sometimes I am genuinely surprised by new Microsoft services. Microsoft Flow has arrived out of the blue and what a nice surprise it is. Similar to IFTTT (If This Then That), Flow connects lots of online services from email and cloud storage to social media and task-based apps like Wunderlist.
The connections lie within the recipes or “flows” that can be created for automated actions. For example, you can create a flow that saves a tweet to a CSV file within OneDrive every time a specific hashtag is mentioned, a useful action if you are collecting and analysing social media activity on a particular topic. Or you could specify that a to-do item is created within Wunderlist for important emails. You can even create flows with multiple steps, and add tasks that run to a schedule.
