Web Log: Apple Watch arrives in Ireland, gets OS update

TimeLapse makes use of the Digital Crown for whizzing through your calendar

The Apple Watch has finally arrived in Ireland! Hurrah! And the operating system, watchOS, has received an update! Double hurrah!

So while we’re a little bitter about waiting for so long for the ultimate smartwatch (that will set you back anywhere from €429 to over €16,000) it does arrive with a slew of new watch faces, including a very pretty time-lapse video of the Paris cityscape, and plenty of other updates and new features.

TimeLapse makes use of the Digital Crown (the knob on the side) for whizzing through your calendar; Nightstand mode turns the watch into a bedside alarmclock; it senses depth of touch pressure (that’s the Taptic Engine also in the new iPhone 6s), and, most importantly, watchOS2 brings native apps as opposed to previous ones that depended on your iPhone.
