Thousands of mobile users were left without access to their voicemail services after Three Ireland suffered a technical glitch.

The company said less than 10 per cent of its customers were affected by the outage, which lasted for about an hour and a half. The problem was resolved shortly before noon.

Three Ireland has around two million customers in the country, meaning about 200,000 customers could have been affected.

Three because the second largest mobile operator in Ireland following the merger of its network with O2 Ireland last year. However, it hasn't been an easy road for the network. After getting the merger approved in March, the company was hit with an outage shortly afterwards, caused by a problem in one of its data centres, that left thousands without mobile phone service.
