Ammado, Peter Conlon's internet company whose software connects charities and donors, has launched a new donation gift card, just in time for "the holiday season"– or Christmas, as Conlon would probably have said back home in Leitrim.

The gift card, Conlon reckons, will “allow companies and individuals to cut through the clutter of traditional corporate gifts and give something truly meaningful this holiday season . . . far more rewarding than receiving another bottle of mediocre wine!”

Conlon and Ammado are both based in Switzerland these days, after the company shifted its domicile from Ireland.

He says it is backed by $40 million in funding from "top-tier" investors, including Irish-American Rovi gazillionaire John Ryan.

Ammado Internet Services (AIS), the venture’s old Irish incarnation, was dissolved in March.

Registered judgments

AIS had two commercial judgments registered against it – one from Trinity College Dublin for €77,000, and another for €500,000 from Simon Davidson, who used to be a HWBC Allsop fixed-charge receiver.

There was also a set of High Court debt proceedings issued against AIS in 2012 by Kamala Group, which appears to be an Indian conglomerate. Those proceedings haven't progressed since, although neither have they been killed off.
