Twenty two Irish start-ups will exhibit at the Web Summit’s sister event Collision in Las Vegas this week.

The start-ups include TenderScout, LogoStore, Simplifly, BonzaQuote and StageStream TV.

They will form part of 1200 start-ups exhibiting at the event, which is taking place tomorrow and Wednesday.

"This is new territory for us. We have grown Collision at a faster rate than we ever achieved with Web Summit, where we roughly doubled in size every year. In Vegas we are hitting 5x growth," Collision founder Paddy Cosgrave announced.

European Tech Summit

Elsewhere, the European Tech Summit is taking place in Cork on Wednesday.

The event will focus on future trends and tech topics around the themes of cloud security, tech talent, the internet of things and digital media.

Speakers include Kingspan CIO John Shaw, Climote founder Derek Roddy, BT Young Scientist winner Ciara Judge, Salesforce vice-president for sales engineering Carl Dempsey, TalentCulture founder Meghan Biro and tech entrepreneur and author Niall Harbison.

Ronan Murphy, chairman of it@Cork, said the tech event was going from “strength to strength”.

He added that the willingness of international delegates to attend was a “testament to how the region is now being viewed as a prominent technology cluster.”

The summit sessions will be accompanied by an exhibition showcasing the latest trends and products offered by the industry, while the day will draw to a close with a black-tie dinner featuring a 3D fashion show.
