Dublin-based global lodging aggregator Homestay. com has secured $3 million in funding as it seeks to grow its business.

The company has also acquired Berlin-based entity Homestaybooking.com, bringing the total number of worldwide host listings on Homestay.com to more than 25,000.

Homestay said the funding and acquisition will help expand and accelerate its global footprint as the US$13 billion private accommodation marketplace continues to grow and begins to segment.

It will use the funding to create a single destination online where guests and hosts looking to share experiences can find each other.
