Profits rise at the Communications Clinic PR agency

Accounts show accumulated profits at agency chaired by Terry Prone rose to €844,422

Accumulated profits at the public relations agency chaired by Terry Prone increased to €844,422 last year.

Latest accounts show that accumulated profits at the Communications Clinic Ltd increased from €777,216 to €844,422 in the 12 months to the end of March last.

Managing director Eoghan McDermott described it as a "very strong year" for the business. "We invested heavily in the recruitment and development of new trainers in our training division as well as making significant investment in refurbishing our headquarters in Adelaide Road, " he said.

The agency’s training division provides media skills, press officer training and broadcaster training along with writing skills.

“We continued to export our services around the world, including for the first time, extensive work in southeast Asia,” Mr McDermott said.

On the business’s future prospects, he said: “Our client list is strong and includes many of the most significant institutions and individuals in Irish business, sport and public service. Our team is as good as it has ever been... and the pipeline of new prospects is healthy. So our outlook is positive.”

The company employed 17 staff last year, while its cash pile increased from €915,267 to €986,181. Pay to directors increased from €417,733 to €640,708.

Clients include AIB, Irish Water, KPMG, Primark, the Arts Council and Northern Ireland golfer Rory McIlroy.
