Iqvia, a US company that provides support services for pharmaceutical, biotech and medical companies, is to create 100 new jobs in Dublin.

The company said the new roles will be in the areas of clinical project management, data management, drug safety and biostatistics. In particular, Iqvia is recruiting pharmacovigilance specialists, across a variety of safety services.

Iqvia, which expects all the new roles to be filled by July, said there are also a number of opportunities available for life science graduates.

The company has had a presence in the Republic since 1990. Its activities here include tracking the pharmaceutical market, conducting market research, providing consulting services across the healthcare spectrum, and offering contract resources to support healthcare companies commercialising medicines.

Formed through the merger of IMS Health and Quintiles, Iqvia has approximately 55,000 employees in more than 100 countries. It reported revenues of $9.74 billion in 2017.
