The US-headquartered market intelligence firm Industrial Info Resources (IIR) is to create 50 jobs over a five-year period following the opening of its new office in Ballybrit, Co Galway.

IIR is a privately-owned company which was established in Sugar Land, Texas in 1983. The firm performs fact-based market research on the industrial processing, heavy manufacturing and energy related industries worldwide and offers so-called “knowledge management solutions” to firms that sell products and services to these industries.

The expansion is supported by IDA Ireland.

IIR has been based in Galway since early 2010 and currently employs 50 people here. The group’s new office is to serve as the company’s international hub, with responsibility for all markets outside the Americas.

The company said that since it established a presence in Ireland it has increased its global coverage substantially with over 92,000 current active projects that have a total project value of over $13 trillion.
