The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) is to begin a recruitment process for a new director general in the coming weeks

This follows a decision by the current director general Ciara Murphy to step down to take up a new position.

SCSI president Pauline Daly today paid tribute to Ms Murphy, saying she had made an "enormously positive contribution" to the development of the society.

“Her work has ensured that the organisation is on a very sound footing and is recognized for its commitment to promoting high standards, professionalism and expertise across the profession.”

Ms Daly said the society would soon begin a recruitment process for a new director general.

“The SCSI is one of the key stakeholders in the construction, property and development sectors of the economy and we play a very important role in the debate on the development of this sector.”

“The director general will have a key role to play in helping to support and lead the work of the Society over the coming years and I have no doubt that the position will attract significant interest from people of the highest calibre,” she added.
