Investment education group CISI appoints new president

Former AIB executive Frank O’Riordan to head up Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment

Former AIB Investment Management chief executive Frank O’Riordan has been appointed president of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).

The institute specialises in the education and ongoing professional development of those working in the investment industry. An international group, it evolved initially from the London Stock Exchange, but now has more than 40,000 members in 110 countries.

Accredited courses

O’Riordan, who has more than 28 years’ experience in the asset management and funds industry, said a key role of the group was to provide members with internationally recognised and accredited courses “which I believe will give them the edge in furthering their careers in a global industry while continuing to foster the continued growth of the financial services industry in Ireland”.

CISI says it has an important role in helping Ireland deliver on the Government’s ambition to add up to 10,000 jobs as part of International Financial Strategy 2020, maintaining professionalism and skills in the financial services area and keeping Ireland competitive on a global scale.
