The deadlines for submissions for the public consultation on ways to improve the means by which the State can fund itself into the future has been extended by a further 10 days.

The Commission on Taxation and Welfare, which is chaired by Prof Niamh Moloney, was established in October. It intends to consider how both the taxation and welfare systems can support economic activity and promote increased employment and prosperity, while ensuring that there are sufficient resources available to meet the costs of the public services .

“In response to the high levels of engagement to date, we have taken the decision to extend the deadline for our public consultation to January 17th, allowing individuals and organisations additional time to submit a response and make their voices heard,” Prof Moloney added.
