The organisers of the One Young World social entrepreneurship summit, which takes place in the Convention Centre Dublin in October, still have about 80 spots left for young delegates who want to change the world and are able to raise more than €4,000 for a ticket.

The OYW's co-founder, South African-born Havas advertising executive Kate Robertson, held court at the Marker hotel in Dublin last Sunday. A formidable woman who doesn't suffer fools, she is also a riot and had a delicious repertoire of gossipy anecdotes about various world figures.

Robertson was in town to check up on arrangements for the Dublin event, which will bring together 1,400 talented young delegates, aged between 18-30, for an ideas jamboree about big global issues. Selected delegates will have their ideas mentored by an international who's who of charitable types, such as Mary Robinson, Bob Geldof or Richard Branson.

The irrepressible Robertson is urging Irish business leaders to send their most talented young employees along. If it were me, I’d probably just do as she says . . .
