The Japanese brewing and distilling company Suntory has agreed to lease 1,000sq m (10,763sq ft)in The Chase office complex in Sandyford, Co Dublin.
The company's European brands include Orangina,Schweppes and Oasis while the US affiliate manufactures and sells Pepsi brand soft drinks. Last September, Suntory announced that it was to acquire Lucozade and Ribena from UK-based GlaxoSmithKline for €2.1 billion.
Suntory is understood to have agreed a rent of €175 per sq m (€16.20 per sq ft) for the penthouse floor in The Chase on a new 15 year lease with break options in years seven and 12.
Conor Whelan of BNP Paribas Real Estate, who advised the landlord, said there had been a notable increase in the level of inquiries for suburban office space after a dismal performance in 2012. He confirmed that he was also in discussion with three other parties looking for office space in the same building.
