One of Ireland's largest motor dealerships, the Joe Duffy Group, has secured planning permission for three further flagship facilities at Junction 5 of the M50 at Charlestown, Finglas.
The planned expansion follows the group’s purchase of an adjoining 5.3-acre site from Bovale Developments, owners of Charlestown Shopping Centre.
The three developments will involve an investment of €20 million in 75,000sq ft of new buildings to accommodate VW North Dublin and Porsche. The new facilities are due to be completed by the end of 2019.
The company embarked on a large capital investment plan last July with the development of two new projects at Airside Business Park in Swords, where part of Bill Cullen’s operation was previously based. The new business includes a flagship Jaguar Land Rover facility and a Volvo and Kia dealership.
Outside Dublin, the Joe Duffy Group is due to commence building work later this year at its new Audi Limerick terminal at Ballysimon Road.
The new premises is due to open by summer 2018.
Gavin Hydes, group chief executive, called the expansion another essential step in the company's growth plans. When completed, he said, the three-year strategy will take the group's overall investment in new facilities to €30 million.
