Irish consulting engineering firm Jennings O’Donovan has been acquired by UK-based RSK Group for an undisclosed sum.
The deal will support continued growth at Jennings O’Donovan while also strengthening RSK’s renewables, environmental and water sectors.
Staff at Sligo-based Jennings O’Donovan, which specialises in renewable energy, water supply, wastewater treatment and the provision of planning and environmental services, employs 100 people. The staff will remain in place following the completion of the deal, including director David Kiely, bringings RSK’s Irish workforce to 600 people.
“This acquisition will see our staff and business continuing as normal while moving to new ownership within a larger organisation that will support our continued growth and development in line with our commitment to the principles of climate action and the low carbon economy,” said Mr Kiely.
The business, which counts local authorities, water and power utilities, private developers in Ireland and overseas among its clients, has an annual turnover of €8.2 million.
Its projects include Meenadreen Wind Farm, the Nysäter Wind Farm in Sweden, the Lumcloon battery energy storage facility in Co Offaly, and the Carrick-on-Shannon to Battlebridge Blueway in Co Leitrim.
RSK employs more than 12,000 people globally, and comprises over 200 companies, with annual turnover of £796 million last year.
