Nua Healthcare has announced plans to create 470 new jobs nationwide to meet demand for its services as it expands into new counties.
The company, which provides intellectual disability and mental health services, said new roles will be added in the areas of general nursing, psychiatric nursing, psychiatry, psychology, behavioural and occupational therapy among others. The jobs will be spread between Nua’s existing facilities in 22 counties and new locations it plans to open in seven other counties, it said.
A number of care support roles will also be created, which will also be open to people who have not worked in the healthcare industry before.
“It is hoped that these jobs in particular will be attractive to people with a keen interest in making a positive contribution to their communities and those who enjoy helping others,” said Shane Kenny, chief operations officer at Nua Healthcare.

“We are especially looking for people who may want to change their current career path and who believe they have compatible skills born out of relevant life experience which will ultimately enable them to be successful in healthcare services,” Mr Kenny said.
The social care company has already filled an additional 300 jobs since March, it said in a statement on Wednesday, due to “ongoing growth and the need of its services nationally”.
