LEINSTER TIGHTHEAD prop Stan Wright and Munster number eight Nick Williams have been called to an IRFU disciplinary hearing in Belfast this afternoon to explain two incidents arising from last Saturday’s Magners League semi-final at the RDS.

The players were reported for separate incidents by the match citing commissioner.

An IRFU statement read: “The IRFU disciplinary panel will hold a hearing to consider two citing complaints emanating from the Leinster versus Munster Magners League semi-final on Saturday, May 15th, 2010.

“The first complaint is against Munster player Nick Williams who has been cited under law 10.4 (B) for an alleged stamp on Leinster player Jonathan Sexton in the 20th minute of the game.

“The second complaint is against Leinster player Stanley Wright who has been cited under law 10.4 (A) for an alleged punch on Munster player Alan Quinlan in the 25th minute of the game.”

The hearings will take place in the Ulster Branch offices in Ravenhill at 2.30pm (Williams) and 4.0pm (Wright).

The IRFU panel will consist of Hugh Logan (chair), assisted by Stephen Hilditch and Neil Jackson.

“The player was cited by the independent citing commissioner who was present at the game. The findings of the disciplinary panel will be released following the completion of the hearing.”

Williams’ season is over – he has also been released by Munster – but Wright is a central figure in Leinster’s plans for the Magners League final against the Ospreys at the RDS on Saturday week.

The Cook Islander has been in excellent form all season, and if he were to receive a suspension of longer than two weeks he would miss that match.

Neither player was censured by match referee Nigel Owens at the time of the incidents.
