TERRY GREGG has made three changes to the Irish hockey squad for the five-nations tournament in Canada later this month but former captain Jeanette Turner, has not recovered from an injury picked up in the Netherlands recently and will miss the trip to Vancouver.
Trish Conway, Tamara Stronge and Caitriona O'Kelly, who were in the 16-player squad that played in Cardiff at the weekend, have been replaced by Pegasus sweeper Arlene Thompson, Philadelphia based Lynsey McVicker, and Judith McKinnon, who is now playing in England with Sunderland Beacons. This brings the Ulster representation on the panel to 10. Michelle O'Sullivan, of UCC, keeps her place after impressing Gregg in her first senior international appearances.
Ireland will play Canada, England, Japan and the USA between April 30th and May 4th in what is a virtual dress rehearsal for their World Cup qualifying pool (which also includes Canada, England and Japan) in Zimbabwe.
