All-Ireland League: St Mary's path into the Division Two final was complete after UCC failed to field a side on Saturday.
The students were forced to concede the match at Templeville Road when they simply did not have enough players to make the trip to Dublin. Exam constraints were given as the principle reason for handing St Mary's the walkover.
In Division Three, Greystones will meet Instonians at Lansdowne Road in next weekend's final after they advanced at the expense of Suttonians in Dr Hickey Park. Although the visitors put up a sparky display, the Wicklow side's 26-0 win came comfortably enough.
Just one penalty separated the sides at half-time, following a penalty from Warren Edwards. He added another before David McKechnie took the ball from his own half to put the first Greystones try on the board. A strong closing phase gave the home side two more touchdowns, fullback McKechnie adding another along with backrow Rob Connolly.
Instonians' match against against Clonakilty was a much closer affair. Clonakilty, hoping to retain their unbeaten home record at Shannonvale, fell to a strong second-half performance from the visitors. At half-time Clonakilty led 14-3 but two tries from the visitors put paid to their hopes of a visit to Dublin next week. Orchin McKeever's touchdown just after the break and Gareth MacClintock's in the 63rd minute swung the game for the Ulster side.
Nenagh Ormond became the first side from Tipperary to qualify for the All-Ireland League when when they came from behind in their round-robin qualifier to beat Rainey Old Boys 18-17. The Munster junior champions will join Naas, who defeated Monivea 46-0 at Forenaughts.
