Irish coach Riet Kuper has named her 16-player squad for next month's European Nations Cup Qualifier in Helsinki, with both Hermes forward Jenny Burke and Loughborough defender Laura Brown included having recovered from recent injuries.
Hermes goalkeeper Sarah Hilliard replaces Portadown's Alison Vance, who was unavailable for selection - Hilliard will now compete with club mate Tara Browne for a place in the Irish goal.
Burke is back to full fitness after missing warm-up tournaments in Dundee and Dublin with a shoulder injury while Brown has recovered from a broken bone in her hand, an injury she picked up against Scotland last month. Old Alexandra's Trish Conway and Harlequins' Aoife Falvey drop out of the squad that won last month's Four Nations tournament in Dublin.
Ten of the 16 players named survive from last summer's squad for the World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe. The newcomers are Laura Brown (who was initially selected for Zimbabwe but was forced to withdraw through injury), Tara Browne, Sarah Hilliard, Kim Mills, Karen O'Brien and Daphne Sixsmith.
